VM COMPETITION WINNER

VISUAL MERCHANDISE/CONCEPT WINNERS

Whilst at university, I was tasked to partner with Cow Vintage in Nottingham to create a window display for their Valentines collection. I was asked to lead and direct my team to create something new and innovative which would stand out to the mass of tourists that visit Nottingham everyday. Rather than opting for the traditional representation of Valentines, we wanted to look at the cultural calendars of February 2018 and what is also significant date to the big V day- it was 40 years of Saturday Night Fever. Upon researching Valentines we had discovered 'I Heart you but I've Chosen Disco'... what about the people that don't have someone to love or simply don't want ti love anyone. We decided on the concept of 'Valentines' and celebrating those girls who are embarrassed that they are single- we want them to shop with us and get their glad rags on for a disco with their girls.

We loved the idea of the mannequins having the disco balls on their heads almost like they love disco so much... they've lost their real ones. We added lights into the disco balls to add attraction at night to the store.

We created the below MOCK UP'S of what we would like the store to look like if we were to win... We were lucky enough out of 200 others to be awarded the winners.
