In my second year of University, I partnered with the brand Stance Socks to create a new campaign for their upcoming collection. We were set the task of creating a 'Narrative'... something relatable that can help the customer connect with the product. During this project, accessories were an upcoming trend that was accessible to all. With luxury brands such as Gucci and Fendi becoming ever more desirable to be on everyones 'Gram'... we predicted that accessories such as socks are the perfect key for consumers to to buy into this luxurious lifestyle at a fraction of the price. Something as small as socks in an outfit can help wearers identify with specific style tribes they wish to belong to. With Stance being a skate brand and the 'Faker Skater' trend whereby everyone brought Vans as part of their staple wardrobe, we wanted to revive this trend showing that wearing Skate clothes can help you become apart of a larger community. We created the hashtag of 'GirlonBoard' whereby as soon as our protagonist in the campaign wore the socks she was apart of the Stance Community and had an identity- she could go from the typical story plot of geek to cool. Since I have obtained a GCSE and A-Level in Media, I understood the shots that were typical of an ad campaign to ensure the focus of the product was clear. I was asked to also star in the advertisement which I didn't mind as I wasn't shy of getting the shots and results we required to make the final ad. Below is the ad campaign for Stance:
